Print & Resist Zinefest April 28!

I’m super stoked for Madison’s upcoming zinefest, Print & Resist! I’ve been on the organizing crew for the past three years, and it has been a blast. This year, we’ll have more than 60 artists and collectives exhibiting, folks from all over Wisconsin, Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit, Minneapolis, and California. Attendance is free! I’ll be there with the Applied Comics Kitchen (ACK!) AND I’ll be soft launching my book project, Between You and Me: Transitional Comics. This limited first edition is grant-funded, and half of the purchase price will go to GSAFE, a nonprofit that supports LGBTQ+ students all over the state of Wisconsin. I can’t wait for this book to get out into the world!

Last week, we met up at the studio of our sponsor and co-organizer Artworking to screenprint Liz Anna Kozik’s beautiful posters, which we’ll have for sale at the event.

We are not lost.

In the wake of the shooting at the Pulse in Orlando, poet-activist and my dear friend Oliver Bendorf organized what he’s calling “another kind of social media.” He’s collecting handmade posters and making them available for people to print out and post around town, messages of love, grief, anti-Islamophobia, anger, hope, especially in solidarity with qtpoc. This is my contribution. Download the rest here and fill the streets and spaces in your world.
